Mehendi is one of the oldest dyeing agents, and in India, it is widely used for decorating the palms and the feet. It is applied mostly by women during auspicious occasions like Karwa Chauth, Teej and other significant festivals. And apart from being an integral part of these festivals Mehendi finds a special space in the Hindu wedding ceremony.

We at venue360 offer skilled mehendi artist to make you look beautiful in your festivals, weddings and events.

Interestingly, ahead of the wedding ceremony, even the groom gets his palms decorated with a small Mehendi pattern as a mark of "shagun" (auspiciousness). But the bride spends hours getting her feet and hands adorned with intricate designs. These, in turn, enhance her bridal look. But why is Mehendi so important? Read on to know the significance of this pre-wedding ceremony.

Since both the bride and the groom should stay in the pink of health on the day of their wedding ceremony, the Haldi is first applied. Haldi has a healing effect on the skin, and it guards it against germs. Similarly, Mehendi is loaded with medicinal values.

• First and foremost, Mehendi acts as a cooling agent and helps in calming the nerves.
• Moreover, it helps the bride and the groom to get rid of stress, headaches and anxiety.
• Like Haldi, Mehendi also shields the body and keeps infection-causing microorganisms at bay, thereby reducing the chances of falling sick ahead of the wedding day.

Hence, owing to its therapeutic values, Mehendi is an inseparable part of Indian weddings.

The sound of the shehnai is considered auspicious. And for this reason it is still played in temples and is an indispensable component of any North Indian wedding. In the past, the shehnai was part of the naubat or traditional ensemble of nine instruments found at royal courts. Thus shehnai holds an important position in Indian classical music.

Till recently it was used only in temples and weddings. The credit for bringing this instrument onto the classical stage goes to Ustad Bismillah Khan. When India gained independence on 15 August 1947, Bismillah Khan became the first Indian to greet the nation with his shehnai. He poured his heart out into Raag Kafi from the Red Fort to an audience which included Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Thus Bismillah Khan contributed to shehnai's development.

We at venue360 offers good shehnai musicians for every events.
